Yesterday I took a quick look at the IP list displaying the visitors of this webpage. I do that sometimes, just to see who's been a returning reader and who was just passing by or dropped in by mistake.

Earlier this month I wrote an entry in which I've described the phenomenon known as The Great Firewall Of China. If you've managed to somehow miss it, worry not. You can give it a quick read after clicking here.

The Great Firewall basically prevents chinese internet users from visiting banned sites. As we know from the previous entry covering this topic, my modest blog is one of souch sites [probably due to the notoriously posted anti communist propaganda]. Imagine my reaction when among the IPs I saw one marked "China".

I could not help but notice the URL this person used to reach my webpage. I guess my blog wasn't what he or she was looking for, unless I've posted something on "Morden China Design" that I'm not aware of. I tracked the URL just for laughs, and there you have it.

What amused me the most was that my page was among the top ten matches for these words. And if that wasn't enough, Yahoo search engine did find all the words it needed.

Administrative tools have identified the user's origin as China based on the language settings on his or hers computer, rather than the actual IP location. The "TW" bit in Yahoo URL gave it away in seconds, but I just couldn't help myself.

There you have it. It seems that Taiwan doesn't get affected by The Great Firewall and so, China officially still doesn't like me.

Sometimes a simple Flash game is just what you need. While browsing through the LayUp design team webpage, I clicked on a banner linking to their Charapal site. Just your regular japanese site for kids. Mecha bears from the future, forest spirits, cute cats and plenty of games for everyone.

I took the 『Kuma-Ku Country Club クマクーゴルフ練習場』 game for a quick spin and even though it's as simple as they get, it's quite addictive. Give it a try by clicking on the banner below. I posted some of my scores on the left. Can you beat me? Of course you can.

Oh, and one more thing. Have you ever noticed how japanese game titles differ from the english ones? This phenomenon is more than often caused by the lack of equivalent english words or the fact that japanese quite simply suck at speaking / writing english [If you are japanese, and I just pissed you off, this obviously doesn't concern you, since you understand english fine].

Japanese title of Kuma-Ku Country Club is KumaKu Gorufu Renshuujou. This translates into Kuma-Ku Golf Training Grounds, and has absolutely nothing to do with Country Club. Oh well.
It's been about a month and a half since Fogma made some significant updates to their jukebox players. Ironically, they did it about a week after I have posted some information on how to operate the damn thing. I guess there isn't that much to know, but you have to at least be able to turn the sound on.
The player is set to "mute" by deafult, so if you feel like listening to some music, just unmute the jukebox by clicking on the marked spot. It's as simple as that.

Update - Due to many problems connected to Fogma player, I've decided to remove it. Forma player developers seem to think it's pretty funny when their program ignores your settings completly. The player notoriously ignored the "mute on start" setting, among other things. Bye Fogma. You will NOT be missed.

For now, a video of 『TURNTABLIST -DJバトル-』. I'll update the last three entries [including this one] when I'll have some spare time on my hands. Enjoy the photos and a video. I dare you to find a better music game for any handheld with similar capabilities to WonderSwan Mono.
