Oh happy day! Chiptune music disk for Famicom / NES is here. Recently Alex Mauer, chiptune composer, released his music disk - Vegavox. Music disks are pretty common but this one is something you should get your hands on. Alex released it on regular NES cart and you can own one of these if you're able to cough up a whopping $22 USD. Shipping included.
Be sure to get one of these while you still can. Homebrew carts come in extremly small quantities and when they sell out, it's eBay and ten times the price. Don't forget to watch the demo video. To check out Alex Mauer's webpage, click here.

Newly acquired: Game Gear TV Tuner Pack [TVチューナーパック] and Battery Pack [バッテリーパック]. Nothing too fancy. No boxes either, but I got it for cheap. Battery Pack still works, amazingly. Not that I'm planning to clip that huge thing onto my belt and walk around with a Game Gear watching TV.
Nice feature of the TV Tuner is a possibility of connecting an external device through a AV composite port. This makes it possible to play or watch anything that has a composite output, on a Game Gear screen.
The Battery Pack also comes in handy, since the Game Gear uses no more and no less than six AA sized batteries and it drains them in a heartbeat. The only downside to an external, rechargable battery pack is its size. It's almost the size of Game Gear itself and it's weighs a ton.
Japan, sweet Japan, I love thou. Just when you thought fish flavoured soda was the creative limit of japanese soft drink manufacturers, they surprise you once again. Hold on, stop, rewind. This sounds as if I'm getting all ready to complain about another weird product, and I'm not.
Summer this year is going to be hot and we are all starting to feel it. Summer is also a period of peak soft drink sales and a huge company like Pepsi knows when to strike and what to strike with.
It's hard to put a finger on a particular taste that dominates in this chemically engineered summer special, but I wouldn't be far off if I said it's a melon flavoured drink with a note of thinned down Pepsi.
Ever had some problems with deleting a file under Windows 9X, NT or XP? For some reason, sometimes Windows claims that a given file we want to delete is still in use and the deletion is impossible. This might be caused by some damage done to the file itself or intentional file structure modification to prevent deletion in case of spyware or virus.
That's where Dr. Delete comes in. This software makes it possible to get rid of all annoying files that refuse to go away and it doesn't care about the files being in use. Just start it up, choose the file you want to delete, confirm and it will be gone after you reboot your system [unless the file wasn't in use and could be deleted right away].
The original program was coded by Jdong, but he released it along with the source code. The program was kind of nasty looking so I cleaned it up a bit, compressed nicely and here it is. Source code is also available upon request. Here are two mirrors for the Dr. Delete Ex file [125 KB zip archive].
